The Best Places to Get Your Holiday Vintage on in the Chicago Suburbs

Do you frequent the same vintage holiday décor shops year after year? Whether you are looking for something specific, just want to browse, or have been dying to infuse your home with some old-time charm, these vintage stores in the Chicago suburbs have something for everyone! (A surprising number even offer food and beverages.)

Western Suburbs

The Kane County Flea Market

Open the first Sunday of the month 7am-4pm, Saturday before 12pm-5pm

At this huge antique market, 600+ vendors sell everything from plants to art to antiques to old games and toys to repurposed/reimagined treasures. They boast a large amount of both found and custom furniture. There is a $5 cash admission fee and food is sold on the premises. Be sure to bundle up because, while there are two large buildings set up with vendors, there are at least as many vendors out in the elements and beneath the covered animal barns.

This two-floor paradise houses products found, created, and repurposed by different vendors: from everything winter and Christmas, to specialty signs, furniture, and more. Weekends get crowded, so get there around opening time at 10am and be prepared to weave through other shoppers. If you have too much to carry, a sales associate can stow the items you plan to purchase behind the register.

This shop contains products from a variety of dealers, including a wide variety of poured candles in your favorite holiday scents, whimsical décor, and treasures made from salvaged metal. This is the kind of vintage shop that makes you feel like a treasure hunter, unearthing creations no one else knew were hidden! Because this shop has multiple sellers, it houses a variety of eclectic styles to choose from.

Olde Farm Creek

10151 Lisbon Rd, Yorkville, IL 60560
Open 2 weekends per month, and every weekend in December.

Located in a barn, Olde Farm Creek is a beautifully curated shop with winter greenery, expertly-decorated Christmas trees, and a plethora of holiday signs and decor. If you want to add final touches to your home and give it the Fixer Upper-feel, you’ll want to make a stop at Olde Farm Creek. This shop can also provide home design inspiration all year round with its cultivated collection of new and repurposed products. 

 

Emerson Creek Pottery and Tearoom

This adorable shop carries mostly new items in the vintage farmhouse style. Given the name, you can expect a large selection of kitchen goods: plates, bowls, teapots and cups. But in addition to kitchenware, Emerson Creek Pottery has tasteful home décor that changes with the seasons, in addition to unique clothing. They also sell select food items to go, perfect for a lazy dinner after a day of shopping!

Hudson Design House

Hudson Design House is more than a vintage store. In addition to furniture, décor, clothes, a plethora of decked-out Christmas trees, this store also hosts sip ‘n shop events and live music. This store’s owners perfectly cultivate their shop for vintage farmhouse charm, and with so many items to choose from, you can be sure to find something to brighten your home’s holiday spirit.

Have Sunday brunch before you shop or an afternoon tea to divide up your excursion. The Little Traveler has five rooms for Christmas decorations, including a large collection of Christmas village pieces, including the Department 56 Harry Potter Collection. Whether you are in the market for some new Santas, hand-painted ornaments, winter greenery, or other figurines, The Little Traveler has something for every holiday shopper.

While keeping in line with the rustic vintage style, this shop contains mostly new and refinished products, rather than actual untouched antiques. Expect Instagram-friendly holiday décor, candles, bath and body products, jewelry, a wide selection of clothing, as well as in-style holiday décor.

Sandwich, Il

Yes, the whole city. If you love antiques and vintage style, it’s worth a trip to Sandwich. I’ve profiled a few stores below, but if you’re serious about vintage, Sandwich is home to at least 19 different antique and vintage shops.

This old house-turned-shop contains homemade and repurposed goods in the vintage style. Expect to find some truly one-of-a-kind crafts and decorations, furniture made from reclaimed wood, as well as holiday candles. The owners have been known to brew coffee for visitors—talk about hospitality!

Prindi's Antique Mall

Whether you are looking for antiques to add to your collection, or are looking for something to repurpose, Prindi’s has a wide selection provided by over 40 dealers. They carry more than a little bit of everything: furniture, hats, clothes, books, toys, figurines. If you love antiquing that also feels like scavenging for treasure, this is the shop for you.

From Santas to towels to candles and more, Bittersweets can provide inspiration for your home’s whole holiday look. You can also pick up unique holiday gifts for your friends and family.

Heritage Trail Mall has a variety of dealers with goods at different price points. If you are looking for real antiques, you can find them here. Some fun Christmas finds include nutcrackers, Santa figurines, Christmas houses, outdoor yard decorations, lighted ceramic trees, wreaths, and of course, a plethora of ornaments. The third floor hosts a holiday gift market that runs until December 31st, so you can splurge now for the holidays or wait until the post-Christmas sales start.

Elizabeth’s Grand Antique Co.

This antique mall found its location in an old school and it only adds to Elizabeth’s Grand Antique Co.’s authentic vintage charm. With three floors to peruse, you will be sure to find furniture, Christmas stockings, holiday decorations, and all the vintage sleds and skis you could ever want. Elizabeth’s Grand Antique Co. is home to many friendly vendors who want to ensure these old antiques find new homes.

SaraBoo Creek can help you achieve your vintage farmhouse goals with custom signage. If you place an order, it might even be ready to go before you leave. They also carry a large variety of pre-made signs, décor, and plants. They have a second location in downtown Naperville.

Chic, Geek & Antique

Chic, Geek & Antique has, as its name suggests, a collection of antique homewares as well as collectibles. Whether you want to shop for Christmas decorations, toys and games from bygone eras, unique figurines, or to just browse through their eclectic stock, this shop’s items are guaranteed to pique your interest. You might even find a gift for that hard-to-shop-for uncle on your list.

Milltown Market

508 N Kankakee St, Wilmington, IL 60481
Monday through Friday 11am-5pm, Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 12:30-5pm

Like Sandwich, Il, Wilmington also has more than its share of antique stores, and Milltown Market is one of its largest. Enjoy coffee and donuts as you pursue the wares of this mall’s 30+ vendors. They sell antiques and are a great location to find a vintage statement piece for your home.
